Do you offer group or private lessons?

Yes, we offer small group sessions (maximum 4 students) for collaborative yet personalized learning. One-on-one lessons are also available upon request.

Who are your tutors?

Our tutors are qualified teachers, high-ATAR graduates, and subject specialists with a passion for student learning and success.

How do you ensure consistent, high-quality lessons?

We monitor lessons through regular tutor feedback, student performance tracking, and structured lesson plans aligned to your child’s learning goals.

What is your teaching style?

We combine explicit teaching, guided practice, and independent tasks. Lessons are designed to build deep understanding and confidence.

Are your tutors trained in the curriculum and exam formats?

Absolutely. All tutors are trained in the Victorian Curriculum and familiar with standardised tests such as NAPLAN, ICAS, scholarship exams, selective entry exams, and VCE formats.

How do you monitor student progress?

We use term-based assessments, diagnostic tools, regular feedback, and tutor notes to track progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Curriculum & Learning Programs

What curriculum do you follow?

We align with the Victorian Curriculum, while also preparing students for NAPLAN, scholarship exams, selective school tests, and VCE assessments.

Do you follow a structured syllabus for each subject?

Yes. Each subject follows a termly scope and sequence aligned with the curriculum and tailored to your child's goals from foundational skills to exam preparation.

Do you help with school homework and assignments?

Yes while our core focus is on building subject mastery and long-term skills, we do support students with school-assigned tasks such as homework, assignments, and projects. In one-on-one sessions, this support can be fully customised to align with specific school requirements. However, in group classes, our structured lessons follow a set program, and assignment support is offered only when it fits the learning objectives for all students.

What types of writing do you teach?

We teach creative writing (narrative, persuasive, reflective), text response essays, and crafting texts like poetry, scripts, reports, blogs, articles and letters tailored to year level expectations and exam formats.

Do you prepare students for scholarship or selective school exams?

Absolutely. We have targeted programs for Years 3–8 that cover verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, numerical reasoning, mathematical skills and writing.

Do you help with VCE preparation?

Yes, we support students across English, Maths (General, Methods, Specialist), Biology, Chemistry, and Physics with SAC prep, timed tasks, and exam strategies.

Lesson Structure & Scheduling

How many lessons should my child attend each week?

We recommend at least one lesson per subject per week to ensure steady progress. For exam preparation or accelerated learning, multiple sessions may be scheduled.

How long are the lessons?

All standard tutoring lessons at Education Nation run for 60 minutes.

Do you offer holiday or vacation classes?

We operate year-round from January to the second week of December, offering consistent learning across terms. We are also closed on all public holidays.

Can I request a specific day or time for classes?

Absolutely. We’ll do our best to match your availability. Our team will work with you to find a suitable time slot based on tutor schedules and class openings.

What if my child misses a class?

If we receive notice in advance, we’ll reschedule the class or offer a make-up session during the term where possible.

Can my child switch from group to private lessons later?

Yes. If you feel your child needs more one-on-one attention, we can transition them into private tutoring based on tutor availability.

Online Tutoring

Do you offer online classes?

Yes we use an online learning platform and interactive tools to deliver engaging, live lessons with shared screens, digital whiteboards, and real-time feedback.

Do you offer follow-up materials after class?

Follow-up resources such as worksheets, solutions, or writing feedback are provided depending on the lesson type. 

What if we have technical issues?

We’ll reschedule if needed and help you troubleshoot. If online doesn’t work for you, in-person classes may be an option depending on your location.

Can students access resources for online lessons?

Yes. Our online students receive the same resource access as in-person students, including lesson slides, worksheets, and feedback tools.

Parent Support & Communication

How do you communicate my child’s progress?

We provide regular written and verbal updates.

Can I change tutors if needed?

Yes. We’ll work with you to ensure your child is comfortable and progressing and we’re always happy to adjust the tutor match if needed.

Do you offer regular parent meetings or progress check-ins?

Yes. We provide mid-term and end-of-term updates and can arrange parent–tutor meetings upon request to discuss goals and progress.

Can I access feedback on my child’s written work?

Absolutely. For English and writing tasks, students receive detailed feedback on structure, vocabulary, clarity, and improvement points.

Pricing, Scheduling & Policies

What are your fees?

Fees vary depending on year level, subjects required, and lesson format.

Can I cancel or reschedule a class?

Yes, we allow reschedules with notice. Missed classes can often be made up within the same term.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. We operate on a class by class basis, with no lock-in contracts.

What is the minimum commitment required?

No minimum commitment. You can pause or stop lessons at the end of any class with appropriate notice.

Do you offer sibling or multi-subject discounts?

Yes. Families with multiple children or students enrolled in multiple subjects receive a discount. Contact us for details.

Student Support & Extension

Do you work with students who are behind?

Yes. We create remedial programs for students who need to catch up and rebuild their skills.

Do you offer extension or acceleration?

Yes, we offer advanced tasks, accelerated programs, and exam preparation for high-achieving students.

Can you support students with learning difficulties?

Absolutely. Many of our tutors have experience working with students who have ADHD, dyslexia, or other specific learning needs.

Can you work with students preparing for acceleration or early entry programs?

Yes. We support students aiming to skip a grade or enter advanced programs by focusing on core readiness skills and acceleration strategies.

Learning Environment

What is the classroom environment like?

Our classrooms are clean, well-lit, and designed for focused, small-group learning. Each room is limited to a maximum of four students and equipped with modern learning tools.

Do you use smartboards or digital tools in class?

Yes. We use interactive smartboards, visualisers, and other digital resources to enhance explanations and make lessons engaging and visual.

Do you have a library or study space?

No. We don't have a physical library however, all learning resources are available online.

Yes. Every student receives access to our exclusive Resource Banks, which include:

  • Timed worksheets and practice drills

  • Past paper questions and worked examples

  • Model responses, essay templates, and writing prompts

  • Formula sheets, grammar guides, and revision checklists

Are the resources aligned to my child’s year level?

Yes. All resources are tailored to suit your child’s academic level, learning goals, and upcoming assessments.

Can I purchase additional resources?

We do sell Year 5 or Year 7 Scholarship and Selective School Exam Resource Packs.
